Week of 9/23-9/27 and Lesson 6 Printout


Dear parents and guardians,

This week, the kids completed Lesson 5 and received their grammar books to review the first four lessons. I hope these review pages help them prepare for the upcoming test. While this is just an advanced practice, please go over the answers with your children and encourage them to study ahead. 

Additionally, Grade 2 students have started decorating their LIM notebooks and we will be using the old LIM notebooks from Grade 1, so there’s no need for concern. For new students, we will remind them in their communication books to bring . Thank you all for your hard work and support this week!

Mid Term Exam Test Scope Here's what you should remind your child about for the exam: 1) Write neatly. If I can't read their writing or understand what it is, they'll lose points. 2) Read and follow all the instructions carefully. Points will be taken off if they don't follow the directions. 3) Read all the questions carefully and check their answers. Remember to use capital letters and punctuation marks when needed. 4) Make sure they come to school with sharp pencils and an eraser. 5) Encourage them to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and be on time for school on the exam day. 6) Tell them to do their best! Dear parents and guardians, We had a short but productive week! This week, all the children learned how to use both their communication books and homework notebooks. They did a great job getting started with this important routine. It's completely normal for some students to feel a little overwhelmed as they adjust to new classroom processes. With time, support from both teachers and parents, and a bit of consistent practice, they'll soon feel more confident and comfortable. I encourage them to take a few moments over the weekend to review and practice what they've learned in class. Thank you for a wonderful week. Week of 9/8-9/12 and Lesson 3 Printout Dear parents and guardians, We’ve wrapped up our second week of school and we couldn’t be prouder of our 2nd graders! Adjusting to a new grade can feel like a big step, but our students are showing such determination and heart as they settle into new routines, lessons and expectations. This week, we talked a lot about trying our best, not being perfect, but giving our full effort. We are seeing students rise to the challenge: following directions more quickly, staying focused longer and showing kindness to one another. These are all part of what it means to grow as a learner and as a class family. In Math, we reviewed last week’s lesson and we are so happy to see the children really getting the concepts.
