 Week of 9/30-10/3 and Lesson 6 Printout


Dear parents and guardians,


We had a productive week in class! The students have completed their English work and it’s great to see their hard work paying off. For the long weekend, their only homework is to write a short paragraph about their plans for the Moon Festival. It’s a fun way to keep up their writing skills while connecting to something meaningful and personal.


In Math, we’re slowly finding a steady pace. The students are becoming more confident and if we stay on track, we should be able to finish the topics we started last week by the end of next week.


Please note: there will be no Weekly Test or Science class next week due to the shorter week.


Thank you for your continued support and we wish you and your family a joyful and restful Moon Festival!

Mid Term Exam Test Scope Here's what you should remind your child about for the exam: 1) Write neatly. If I can't read their writing or understand what it is, they'll lose points. 2) Read and follow all the instructions carefully. Points will be taken off if they don't follow the directions. 3) Read all the questions carefully and check their answers. Remember to use capital letters and punctuation marks when needed. 4) Make sure they come to school with sharp pencils and an eraser. 5) Encourage them to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and be on time for school on the exam day. 6) Tell them to do their best! Dear parents and guardians, We had a short but productive week! This week, all the children learned how to use both their communication books and homework notebooks. They did a great job getting started with this important routine. It's completely normal for some students to feel a little overwhelmed as they adjust to new classroom processes. With time, support from both teachers and parents, and a bit of consistent practice, they'll soon feel more confident and comfortable. I encourage them to take a few moments over the weekend to review and practice what they've learned in class. Thank you for a wonderful week. Week of 9/8-9/12 and Lesson 3 Printout Dear parents and guardians, We’ve wrapped up our second week of school and we couldn’t be prouder of our 2nd graders! Adjusting to a new grade can feel like a big step, but our students are showing such determination and heart as they settle into new routines, lessons and expectations. This week, we talked a lot about trying our best, not being perfect, but giving our full effort. We are seeing students rise to the challenge: following directions more quickly, staying focused longer and showing kindness to one another. These are all part of what it means to grow as a learner and as a class family. In Math, we reviewed last week’s lesson and we are so happy to see the children really getting the concepts.
